I had this wonderful session a few weeks ago in Pittsburgh. I was excited to get in to the city and do a session and near their house was the PERFECT location thanks to their neighbors. What a beautiful spot to shoot this beautiful couple expecting their first born.
We started in the house because they wanted a picture with the dogs and it wasnt working outside (dogs get distracted so easily!). It was hard to get all of them to look at me and not have them run right up to the camera but I think we captured a great shot here.
Cant wait to head out there soon for the newborn session!
I first met Darcel back in April when she contacted me to do a session with her and her lovely family. (you can see that session here - Darcel) . During our session we discussed doing pictures of her journey through Chemo. Bringing awareness to Ovarian Cancer is something I have a passion for and you can see why here . Some of the ideas we had we werent able to do but recently we got together for a little themed type of shoot. Darcel is certainly a warrior and we wanted to bring a little awareness to Ovarian Cancer as well. I am really pleased with the way the shoot turned out.
The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2012, about 22,280 new cases
of ovarian cancer will be diagnosed and 15,500 women will die of ovarian cancer
in the United States.
According to the data, the mortality rates for ovarian cancer have not
improved in forty years since the “War on Cancer” was declared. However, other
cancers have shown a marked reduction in mortality, due to the availability of
early detection tests and improved treatments. Unfortunately, this is not the
case with ovarian cancer, which is still the deadliest of all gynecologic

I recently got together with a family from Windber for a mixed session of senior and family portraits.
We also mixed in a few sibling portraits as well.
Charles is a senior and will be graduating in 2013. I still remember being a senior and having my pictures done..... 13 years ago. For the love of god I never thought I would be this old!!!
Anyway.... on with the main reason we are here........
This boy could be a model. I am almost positive at that. Take a look for yourself and let me know what you think!
I want to retract my previous statement and just say this......
These siblings could BOTH be models!!!!
What a wonderful family!!!
I have been so busy and have not had to time to post many sessions from this summer. Between editing and training for my 5k (yes, I am doing one and I have found out that I LOVE running) I just havent had the time. Recently had I the Opprotunity to photography little Owen again. He is always so happy. I love it! He is such a sweetie pie! This time was the most difficult because he did not want to sit still for a picture at all, he just wanted to run away from the camera. I think we still got a lot of great shots. Here they are!!
What a wonderful family! Owen, you are so loved!!
